"Driving Home the Blues" Terraplanes |

The Terraplanes were formed in 1993 and
established themselves as the blueshouse keepers of the Ann Arbor
Bluestage at the Blind Pig. Their tenure as hosts enabled them to
lead the faithful in a serious dues-paying performance fest of R&B based
standards and originals that has drawn thousands of believers and
hundreds of fabulous guest musicians in a transcendent, transcultural
celebration of roots based music. They entertain fans at many
clubs and festivals in the Southeast Michigan area. They have also
been cited for their bluesability in the Ann Arbor News, Agenda, Current
Magazine,and Renaissance Times. The name "Terraplanes" was borrowed from the song "Terraplane Blues" penned by the great blues legend Robert Johnson in 1936. The song is a lyrical Suggestion associating the mischievous behavior of his partner with that of the performance of his car, a Terraplane, which was the name given to a line of aerodynamically..........
